Yesterday Was a Good Day

I was working on a couple of orders yesterday, and then I took some time to play. Play time is my favorite time on the torch, and I haven’t had nearly enough of it. These are my favorites from that session.. I need to wire them up this morning, and a couple are being added to a new Traveller Series necklace, then they’ll be going up on Etsy later today. 🙂

Back to Work…

I’ve been floundering a bit lately, not quite sure where I want to go with my glass… and my illustration… and my shop. It’s one of those times where I just become immobile with indecision. The best medicine for that problem is to just get down to work… so, I’m back on the torch today, to play with a few ideas that have been swimming around in my head, and this morning, I photographed a few things for the Etsy shop. I’ve also been pondering doing a few more tutorials: Anyone have an idea of what you might like to see? I’m open to suggestions, for sure!

Anyway…. on to the eye candy: A necklace from my Traveler series, Stone series pendant, and a perched bird pendant.

The three pieces above will be in my Etsy shop in a few minutes… Have an awesome day!!

Just a quick post here today, as I am getting ready to take off on vacation this week… We’re headed to our favorite spot in Jamaica, and I’m sure I’ll be posting some photos when I get there, but until then, I leave you with my latest bird.. 🙂 Strutting her stuff… she was supposed to be a vogue model, but I think she looks like a pimp 🙂Image

For Salpal…

My sister, who is an amazing potter (check out Mountain Farm Road pottery), is, at this very minute trying to drive home through a snowstorm from Ohio, where she was attending a ceramics lecture by one of her favorite artists, Lana Wilson.  I’m so happy that she was able to go to the class, but I don’t envy her the travel in the snow. … Anyway, this is for you Sal….

“This Weather is For The Birds”….

This is an entirely selfish post. Yes. I am tooting my own horn.

A trio of cool things have happened lately:

1. I’m very pleased to announce, That I have been invited to be the instructor for Bead & Button’s Master Class in Lampworking for 2012. It’s a HUGE honor and I’m so excited! Woot!!

2. The Bead Invitational Show at Pismo Art Glass Gallery in Denver has opened, and even if I cannot be there myself, it’s a joy to be able to go to the website and see my work nestled in among so much talent!

You can check it out HERE.

3. Guess where one of my beads was spotted… just guess… go ahead… OK, give up? It was in The History of Beads!!! omg…omg…omg..omg . I’ve owned this book forever! A new edition just came out, and ta da! There I am!! Eeeek!

Oh! One more!  I’m going to be the featured artist this next quarter in The Glass Bead Magazine! Thanks so much Marcy! You are the best!

Is that cool or what?

OK… sorry to interrupt…. I’ll put the horn away now.
