Time is creeping up on “The Big Trip” .
I’m off to the west coast on Thursday… flying into Portland and renting a car (My first solo rental of my life, BTW) and then off to Chinook, Washington in the dark…Eek! I would have arrived earlier, but it’s hard to find a flight from my tiny airport that doesn’t involve changing planes somewhere, and when you factor in the time change, early afternoon to evening is the norm for arrival times. I love Chinook. I had a wonderful time there last year, and my hosts are the best. M & D Designs is a great place to take lampworking classes, and all kinds of beading and jewelry classes as well.
Anyway…. I’ve been madly making beads and trying to remember everything I want to pack. It’s a long trip. After my class at M & D, I’m off to Glass Stock in Newport Beach, Oregon, so it’s a good 12 days on the road. Packing is always a challenge for me. I pack too much, and always the wrong things…sigh. It’s all good though…. good friends, good times, glass and beautiful landscapes everywhere you look. It doesn’t get any better than that.
I promise to get back on track in terms of beads and work for sale after I return…I know it’s been awhile, and I HAVE been working….really! I’ll have a nice long break from travelling, and lots of time on my hands! In the meantime, I’ll tease you with some of the beads, and some really weird new stuff I’m working on ….
Otherwise, see you all after the 7th of Sept!
